About ZO Controlled Depth Peel
The ZO Controlled Depth Peel (a new version of Dr. Obagi's famous Blue Peel) is an intense peel which targets several severe skin conditions. Our Controlled Depth Peel is a robust dermal treatment using Trichloracetic Acid (TCA) with multi-action components for powerful exfoliation and skin renewal. It is used to medically treat various skin conditions including acne, wrinkles, fine lines, rough texture, pigmentation disorders, and sun damage. Enriched with lipid supplements, skin irritation modulators, and antioxidants, this innovative peel's base helps replenish skin barrier function and minimize post-peel cell-damaging oxidative stress. We invite you for a skin consultation at our Houston, Texas office to learn more.
Benefits of this peel
The ZO Controlled Depth Peel provides effective, long-lasting skin health restoration. This peel dramatically reduces hyperpigmentation from sun damage and age spots as well as uneven skin tones from acne's post-inflammatory coloring. Patients with rough or dry patches may also see improvement in the texture of their skin. This treatment also lessens the prevalence of fine lines and wrinkles.
Candidates for this Peel
If you have severe conditions in the appearance of your skin (laxity, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and more) this treatment may be recommended for you. At a private consultation, we will assess whether a ZO Controlled Depth Peel is right for your skin concerns. It is recommended that any inflammation (acne, folliculitis, or an active infection) be under control before attempting this level of peel. You should not be pregnant or lactating while receiving this peel. In addition, if you have a history of the herpes simplex virus (HSV), your doctor should start an anti-viral medication the day before your peel and continue its use for at least 10 days after the treatment to avoid complications.
"I had a great hydrafacial! Also love their products!"- M.M. / Google / Aug 11, 2020
"I came here after searching for another place to obtain facials within the area. My first visit was a complimentary consult and spoke about my skin concerns. I inquired about the Hydrafacial MD, as lately I have been experiencing bouts of dry skin. The second visit was my scheduled appointment and did the Hydrafacial MD. I have to say Dana did such a great job! I felt so RELAXED! I can definitely tell that my face feels better compared to what it was when I came to consult with Dana. My skin feels amazing overall. :)"- S.F. / Facebook / Mar 28, 2018

Administering Your Peel
During your consultation for a ZO Controlled Depth Peel, our aesthetic team will review all pre- and post-procedure instructions with you in order to decrease the risk of complications. At least one week before treatment, a member of our team will review your consent forms. We will also review the following:
- Pre-procedure skin-conditioning regimen
- Objectives and expected outcome of the peel
- Various healing stages and expected recovery time
- Anticipated reactions such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, milia, and acne
- Potential complications such as hypertrophic scars, keloids, hypopigmentation, and infection
- Instructional videos and photos to further clarify the procedure if available
In our comfortable patient treatment room, one of our experienced Skin Health professionals will administer your ZO Controlled Depth Peel. In some cases, this advanced chemical peel may require sedation during the treatment to keep you comfortable. When we remove the peel from your face, we will also neutralize and cleanse the area thoroughly. An emulsifying cleanser may be used to effectively remove the blue base tint. If you have any questions, we will be happy to answer them before you leave our office. We will also advise you to protect your skin with sunscreen and limit your exposure to the sun after a treatment.
