About IPL Therapy
At The ZO Skin Centre in Houston, Texas, we offer high-end photofacial skin rejuvenation treatments that address various skin concerns. An intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment is applied to correct wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, freckles, acne, rosacea, large pores, and poor skin texture. Unlike a typical laser treatment that uses only one wavelength of light, IPL photofacials utilize a broad spectrum of light which targets a wider range of skin imperfections. Our photofacials are safe for all skin types and complexions, but a thorough examination of your skin prior to your treatment will help us to determine if IPL is right for your needs.
"Couldn't be happier! - I have had multiple surgeries on my nose prior to going to VIP Plastic Surgery. I had some issues "fixed" that was covered by my insurance. Yet I still had issues and I was becoming more insecure with how my nose looked. I started to look into talented doctors for plastic surgery, because I gave up on my nose being functional. After weeks of research I went to VIP to see Dr. Korsandi. He listened to what I was looking for, and he was honest about my ideas. He didn't promise things he couldn't keep. I felt really good about VIP Plastic surgery and Dr. Korsandi. I booked my surgery that day, and was waiting anxiously for my new nose. It is now a month and a half after the surgery and I know I made the right decision. He not only set out to make my nose how I wanted, but he even fixed some things the past surgeon did not! Not only does my nose look good, but I can use it for the intended purpose of breathing. In that regards Dr. Korsandi went above and beyond what I wanted. He took his time during the surgery to clean up the mess that was my nose, and I couldn't be happier breathing like a normal human being. I highly recommend this doctor to anyone looking to gain their confidence back!"- Anonymous / Vitals / Apr 14, 2017
"If you’re looking at doing just about any type of facial rejuvenation and then some, ZO pretty much covers it all from A to Z. I’ve always tried to use some type of moisturizer and/or sun block as best I can, but over time the sun exposure here in Houston coupled by genetics, you get either sun spots / freckles on your face. After reading a few glowing reviews from my other Yelp colleagues I decided to stop in and inquire more. During my first I was greeted by Sonia and she was very good at providing me some insight and recommendation for my needs. Long story short I ended up purchasing a package of the micro needling and the IPL (Intense Pulse Light). Basically the micro needling does a great job of getting your skin to shed the dead skins cells and the IPL zaps the pigmentation. All in all its been a great experience and has done a very nice job of reducing most of the pigmentation / freckles (have one more session of the IPL) and would encourage anyone to try this place."- R.W. / Yelp / May 01, 2019

"Natasha did a great job on my hydrafacial. Quick and not too tingly. Just right and my face felt very smooth the next day. I am going back to get IPL in a few months and will report back!"- N.K. / Google / Aug 20, 2022
Administering IPL Therapy
Before treatment, we will provide you with protective eye gear before applying a cooling gel to the target area. During IPL treatments, a handheld device is used to project the focused laser deep into the skin. This light energy causes microscopic lesions within the skin to reveal a new, refreshed layer of tissue and to promote collagen production. Collagen is a natural protein produced by the body that improves the quality of your skin and its firmness. Therefore, the result is a naturally tighter appearance. There may be mild discomfort during treatment as patients feel a slight pinching sensation. The length of your session will be determined by your skin condition and the specific area being treated. Most IPL treatments take about 45 – 60 minutes.
After Your Treatment
Following treatment, your skin will be red but it is safe to resume your daily activities. There is usually no downtime needed with IPL. Some patients may have reddened skin that will last a few hours, but a cold compress can reduce this time. You should avoid direct sunlight for at least one week and always protect your skin from the sun and environmental damage. For optimal results, 3 – 5 treatments are recommended, which are typically scheduled three weeks apart.
