Google patient reviews
What Houston patients say about AviClear.
These reviews were published on the ZO Skin Centre Houston Google Business Profile. Individual experiences and results vary.
“Krista was absolutely amazing. She was very attentive, took the time to listen to all of my concerns, and ensured each one was thoroughly addressed. She explained everything she was doing step by step and gave me helpful tips on how to prevent future breakouts, which I really appreciated. She also recommended products tailored to my skin instead of pushing anything unnecessary. My skin has been looking great since the facial, and I definitely plan on seeing her regularly. Highly recommend!”
“My daughter had the Aviclear acne laser treatment and today and we’re looking forward to the results. This med spa has had amazing results with the treatment. The staff is amazing! We love Sonia!”

What it targets
Where AviClear may fit in an acne plan.
AviClear is usually considered when active acne, oiliness, inflammation, or recurring breakout patterns need more than a routine reset.
How this treatment helps
AviClear uses laser energy to target sebaceous glands, which can help reduce the oil-driven cycle behind certain acne patterns when you are an appropriate candidate.
Active acne
AviClear® is a laser acne option designed for patients who want a device-led approach to breakouts.
Oiliness
Treatment targets sebaceous glands as part of a plan to reduce the cycle that contributes to acne.
Inflammation
Your provider evaluates inflamed breakouts and skin sensitivity before deciding whether AviClear® fits.
Long-term clarity
AviClear® is usually planned as a series with ongoing skin care support for clearer-looking skin over time.
Treatment plan
Your AviClear treatment plan
- Your provider confirms acne pattern, oiliness, medical history, and whether AviClear is the right fit.
- Treatment settings are selected around comfort, skin type, and acne goals.
- AviClear is positioned as part of a clear-skin plan rather than a one-off appointment.
Best fit
Is AviClear the right treatment for your concern?
Not every treatment fits every face. Here is an honest look at who gets the most from AviClear — and who is usually better served by a different plan.
Best for
- Patients with recurring active acne or oil-driven breakout patterns who want to explore a device-led option.
- People who are ready for a series-based plan and follow-up support rather than a one-time facial.
Not best for
- Post-acne scars or texture concerns after acne is already controlled; those may fit microneedling or Morpheus8® better.
- Patients who are not able to follow product, sun, or aftercare guidance while the plan is underway.

What to know before you book.
What is AviClear?
AviClear is a laser acne treatment option designed to target sebaceous glands as part of a provider-led acne plan.
Is AviClear for active acne or acne scars?
AviClear is generally discussed for active acne and oil-driven breakouts. Acne scars and texture are usually addressed after breakouts are controlled.
Can AviClear replace my skin care routine?
No. AviClear works best inside a broader clear-skin plan, which may include ZO home care, follow-up visits, and product adjustments.
How many treatments are needed?
A series is commonly recommended. Your provider will confirm timing based on your acne and skin response.
Can I stay on acne products?
Some products may be continued and others may need adjustment. Your provider will give specific instructions.
Is AviClear right for every breakout?
No. Candidacy depends on acne type, skin history, and your broader treatment plan.
How much does AviClear cost in Houston?
The complete AviClear series is $3,500 at ZO Skin Centre Houston, covering all three required sessions spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. There is no per-session upsell — the price is for the full series.
Is AviClear better than Accutane?
They work differently. Accutane (isotretinoin) is an oral medication with systemic side effects, lab monitoring, and strict pregnancy precautions. AviClear targets the oil glands directly with laser energy — no daily pill, no bloodwork, and no systemic medication. AviClear can be a strong option for patients who cannot take or do not want isotretinoin; for severe nodulocystic acne, a dermatologist-managed medication plan may still be the right call, and we refer when it is.
What do AviClear before and after results look like?
Most patients see breakouts become fewer, smaller, and shorter-lived over the months following the series, with clinical studies showing continued improvement at 12 months as the oil glands stay suppressed. Results build after treatment ends rather than peaking immediately.
